The role

As a Senior Unity Developer within Yondr Engineering’s Research and Development team you will act as lead developer for AR, VR, Mobile, Robotics and associated projects, working out of Yondr Labs location Bristol, UK (several days per week on location).

You will take a lead role in developing proof of concept projects into productised applications, provide technical appraisal over integrated disciplines to support a continuous cycle of innovation and control technical quality and risk, working with the rest of the development team.


Main responsibilities

  • Plan and implement functionality for AR, VR, Mobile and Robotics applications
  • Offer technical solutions, innovate and improve the quality of implementation, performance and usability of the editor, tools and tool chain as a whole
  • Transform proof of concepts into productisable applications
  • Communicate with other team members
  • Establish effective strategy and development pipeline
  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code
  • Ensure the best performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
  • Identify process and application bottlenecks and bugs
  • Offer and implement solutions in a timely manner


Qualifications and experience required

  • At least 5 years experience as Unity Developer
  • At least 5 years experience in C#
  • A solid understanding of Unity's render pipelines
  • Experience with Unity XR development particularly OpenXR
  • Proficiency with Git version control
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills

Qualifications and experience desired

  • Experience with Azure Spatial Anchors
  • Experience developing for Hololens particularly with MRTK and UWP
  • Experience with optimising code and assets for Oculus Quest
  • Experience with Android mobile development
  • Experience with iOS mobile development
  • Experience with ARcore and ARkit
  • Experience with Unity AR Foundation
  • Experience with Python
  • Experience with Unity Shaders particularly Shader Graph and HLSL
  • Experience developing with WebRTC
  • Experience working with Azure services
  • Testing & revisions of software, finding and fixing bugs.
  • Experience in optimising memory and storage usage
