What the work involves and how it may affect residents

Construction at our data center site includes early‑stage activities such as controlled blasting, which is required to safely break up underlying rock, so construction can move forward.

 

  • Blasting is expected to last until May 29, 2026*

  • All blasts are carefully engineered and tightly controlled to minimize vibration, noise, and air pressure. Blasts last roughly 30 seconds

  • Blasting is carried out during weekday business hours, not on weekends. This is in line with local and state regulations

  • Activities are overseen by licensed and certified blasting professionals

  • There may be traffic closures if required, lasting approximately 3-5 minutes, which will have been agreed in accordance with the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office

  • All blasts are approved by the Loudoun County Fire Marshal each morning blasting is planned to ensure safety
